A real mattress for the camper.
The mattress that came with the RV is usually the thinnest thing in it. We build a replacement to the exact size and shape of your bed, in the shop in High Ridge, so it fits under the cabinets and clears the slide-out.
Whatever the floor plan.
Short queens and RV sizes
The 60″ × 74″ short queen most campers take, and the RV kings, bunks and cab-over beds that don’t match a home size.
Cut and rounded corners
Angled corners at the foot so you can get past the bed, and rounded ends for island beds.
Split firmness
One half firm and one half soft, so two people who don’t agree on a mattress can both sleep in the camper.
The right thickness
Built to the height you have room for under a cabinet, a bunk or a slide-out that retracts over the bed.
How to measure an RV bed.
Use the platform
Measure the plywood platform, not the old mattress, which has usually shrunk or sagged. Round down to the nearest half inch.
Corners
For a cut corner, measure how far the cut runs along each edge. For a rounded end, measure where the curve starts on each side.
Slide-outs
If a slide-out retracts over the bed, measure the gap with the room pulled in. That’s the most thickness the mattress can have.
The Steven’s 95th Anniversary Edition, a one-sided RV mattress, is on the floor to try out. Clinton also brings them to three RV shows a year: January at the convention center in downtown St. Louis, February or March at the Belle-Clair Fairgrounds in Belleville, Illinois, and September at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Bring the old mattress in if it’s easier than measuring.
