Lauren Becherer Pottery
Handmade ceramics, photographed all the way around.
laurenbechererpottery.comLauren throws and hand-builds in small batches, and glazes in small batches too, which means no two pieces come out the same. One photograph of a pot flattens exactly the thing that makes it worth buying. So the site is built around turning the piece instead.
Every piece is shot on a turntable and served as a spin you can drag. Thirteen so far. Every frame is a real photograph, shot in raw and focus stacked, and the import refuses anything else. One early set came back with thirty-four interpolated in-between frames and the build stops rather than publish them. A steppy honest turn beats a smooth fake one.
She runs it without me. There is a studio login on the site: she signs in with one click, edits the page she happens to be looking at, and the site rebuilds itself in about a minute. Pieces marked for sale get a Stripe button. Commission requests come in through a form, and each commission gets a private progress page reached by a code, so a client can watch their piece without anybody else finding it.
